Figura 1: a grande linha negra
"A great sweeping black line that unifies Composition V like a resounding Klag strives as the fest obvious syncretic motif, suggesting at once the 'last trump' of the apocalyptic final judgment and the trump of the death angel Israfil calling Iskandar back to live. (99) seething abundance, fervilhante , efervescência.
2- mistura de pedaços
bits and pieces from his own synthetic iconography together with borrowings from the Persian miniature, a shaman's drum, and motifs of the Kalevala, reducing his pictorial universe to an iconography of skeletal remnants floating freely in an explosive constellation of events shrouded in a nebulous haze. 99-100
3- dois cavalos, esquerda superior
Sweeping into the apparently stormy heavens above the trumpet (upper left), two horses hieroglyphs recall the dual St. Elijah/Perun the Thunderer motif that had already enlivened his many All Saint's Day painting.
3- o barco, esquerda inferior
The Pictographic boat motif , in the lower left-hand quadrant, that might have been better suited to a 'deluge'context, carries a figure in yellow and two others, a motif reminiscent of the figure in fellow standing in a boat previously identified in Composition II as the dyadic Christ/Word-Watching-Man( or Golden Prince) and son of the Ostiak and VOful highest god Numi-Törem, who was sometimes envisioned as voyaging from heaven to earth in a bot accompanied by his tow rowers, a motif later repeated in Composition VI.
4- Figura de braços abertos, esquerda inferior
Below the rowers motif, at lower left, is a ghostly figure with upraised arms(more clearly defined in the study for the painting). Reference to Finno-Ugric water spirit Vasa, traditionally associated with the dangers of traversing seas, lakes, and rivers.
5- a cidade de torres, centro superior.
A turreted structure topping a hill at upper center represents at once the conglomerate architecture of the apocalyptic 'New Jesuralem'and the multicoloured home of Numi-Törem or a Russian kremlin atop the site of a Chudic gorodock.
6- Cavaleiro de braços abertos
7- Velas
usadas em cerimônicas para os mortos e outros rituais.
8- Cabeça restaurada, centro.
9- Triângulo, centro.
Como um tambor xamânico.
10- anjo um olho, esquerda superior
11- figura que abandona o quadro
"Unlike most of the paintings Kandinsky produced at this period, with their brilliant color scales, this painting is distinguished by its somber brownish earthen hues, displaying much the same umber-and-russet patina of antiquity that characterizes the Munich drum"105.
